Mayor Jim Ardis has appointed Lucy D. Gulley and Tara D. Canty to the Peoria Public Library Board of Trustees. They fill the seats formerly occupied by Doug Crew and Arthur Mae Perkins whose terms were finished.

The new board members attended their first board meeting on July 19th and will serve until June of 2014.

Outgoing Trustees Crew and Perkins were honored for their volunteer service on the library board with book ends and a letter of thanks. Crew was appointed to the board in 2007 and Perkins had served for three terms beginning in 2002.

Gulley and Canty will serve as the Library moves into the next phase of development.
