Metro Peoria unveils Website

The Metro Peoria Committee unveiled its new website at today’s regular monthly meeting at the Peoria County Courthouse. The new website, http://www.metropeoriagov.com/, will keep citizens of the County of Peoria, including those within City of Peoria limits, informed of the efforts of both units of local government – the City and the County – to collaborate for our community’s future.

Metro Peoria was formed when the City and the County adopted its charter in July of last year. The committee, chaired by County Board Member Mary Ardapple, is comprised of three City Council representatives and three County Board members who seek to identify, investigate, and implement collaboration initiatives that provide citizens more efficient services at a lower cost. Currently, the committee is exploring public safety, code enforcement, economic development, and sustainability collaboration opportunities.

Chairperson Ardapple is excited the new website offers interested persons a means to stay informed of the committee’s efforts, “Part of the mission of this committee, between two units of government, is to lead the discussion of collaboration and more efficient service delivery in a transparent manner, in such a way that engages the community in our efforts. I believe the new website affords residents a great opportunity to better understand the purpose and the successes of Metro Peoria.”
