Hike Forest Park With 50 Rock!

The Peoria Park District’s 50 Rock program for active 50+ individuals is hiking Forest Park Nature Center this summer with experienced trainers. Choose from:

• Mondays starting May 6 at 5:30 p.m.

• Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 7 at 8:00 a.m.

• Saturdays (alternating) starting May 11 at 9:00 a.m.

Cost is $30 for a 12/hike punch card or $3/drop-in. Trainers will lead participants through stretches and warm-ups as well as provide tips for safer hiking. Senior Classic Golf Tournament

Sign up now for the Peoria Park District’s Senior Classic 4-Player Scramble on May 11 at Donovan Golf Course. The event is open to ages 50+. Entry deadline is Sunday, May 5. Cost is $60/team, plus green fees. Entry forms are available on-line at www.ppdgolf.org and at all PPD courses. Short Season & Duck Soup Slow-Pitch Softball

The Peoria Park District is offering a “Short Season” 7-game adult softball league starting May 13 at Peoria Stadium. Co-Rec and Men’s teams play on Monday evenings. Registration packets are available at www.peoriaparks.org/softball.

New! Try out the new Duck Soup adult co-rec softball league starting May 13 at Peoria Stadium on Monday evenings. Duck Soup features wacky rules, such as an inning where the bases are run backwards, one player counts for three runs every time he/she scores, and more! Digital Photography Class for Beginners

The Peoria Park District is offering a new Introduction to Digital Photography 7-week class starting on Thursday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Glen Oak Pavilion Board Room. Cost is $60. This class is perfect for those who have a new camera or for those who want to take the next step with their photography. Sessions will cover grounding in composition, controlling shutter speed, aperture and ISO, and various other settings available on your camera. Pony Baseball Season Starting

The Peoria Park District’s and Old Timers Baseball Association’s Pony Baseball season for ages 13-14 runs May 6-July 19. Cost is $63/residents, $68/non-residents. Register using code 53996. Visit www.peoriaparks.org/baseball for more complete descriptions, requirements and online registration.

Sand Volleyball League Registration Open

Registration is now open for the Peoria Park District’s Co-Rec Sand Volleyball Leagues beginning on May 21 at Bradley Park. Get your team of 6 together (at least 2 women) to play on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. Team fees are $170/residents, $185/non-residents. Player fees are $10/residents, $15/non-residents.
