Join a book club at Peoria Public Library this month. New members are always welcome!

Book ‘Em Mystery Book Club will meet on Sunday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Branch to discuss Blood Ties by Sharon Sala. Sala delivers the second book in her new Searchers trilogy.

The Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club meets on Monday, June 10 at Lakeview Branch at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Among Others by Jo Walton. Among Others is the Winner of the 2011 Nebula Award for Best Novel and 2012 Hugo Award for Best Novel. Call 309-497-2149 for more information.

The Evening Love to Read! Book Club will meet on Wednesday, June 12 to discuss Tender at the Bone: Growing Up at the Table by Ruth Reichl, the well-known New York Times restaurant critic who entertains readers with the fascinating characters who shaped her world and her tastes. The Biography and Non-Fiction Book Club will meet on Sunday, June 9, at 3:00 p.m. at North Branch to discuss Lisbon: War in the Shadows of the City of Light, 1939-1945 by Neill Lochery. Renowned historian Neill Lochery draws on his relationships with high-level Portuguese contacts, access to records recently uncovered from Portuguese secret police and banking archives, and other unpublished documents to offer a revelatory portrait of the War’s back stage. Intercontinental Readers will continue to meet to discuss novels by American and Irish authors via Skype at Main Library LL 1 at 1:00 p.m. once every three months with readers in Ireland.
