Neighborhood Notes

The Jackson Corners Neighborhood Association will feature two local speakers at its next meeting, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Child Advocacy Center, 501 E. Gift, according to president Mary Genzel.

One of the neighborhood’s Peoria police officers and a representative from the city’s Code Enforcement Division will attend, she said.

Also, the group is continuing its “Attack of the Litter” events, usually the third Sunday of each month, when volunteers descend on an area and spend an hour or two filling up garbage bags and cans.

The Center Bluff Neighborhood Association at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 is featuring two guest speakers at its monthly meeting at St. Paul Baptist Church, 114 W. Forrest Hill Ave.

Neighborhood Enhancement Coordinator Raven Fuller and the Peoria Public Library’s McClure branch manager Jamie Jones both will address the meeting.

Neighborhood volunteers recently installed new plantings at the McClure branch. The plants were donated by Sheridan Nursery.
