Shin is among about six regular medical students who volunteer at Cordoba Healthcare Clinic that accepts patients who need specialty care but are uninsured or underinsured. Syed, a board member at the clinic, is volunteering as a patient for students. All doctors and staff at the clinic which opened in 2016 are volunteers. Peoria City Councilwoman Rita Ali is sponsoring a mayoral proclamation to recognize Cordoba.
