Photography Class and Exhibit Offered in October at Peoria Public Library Lakeview Branch

Photography enthusiastic and those who would like to sharpen their skills are invited to a series of three free photography workshops on Tuesdays, October 2, 9 and 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peoria Public Library Lakeview Branch. On Tuesday, October 23 a photography contest, open to all, will run from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with winners announced at the end of the evening.

On Tuesday, October 2 the first class is Portraits of Peoria: Taking Great Pictures of People, taught by Tesa and Travis Baillie of Baille Photography. This free class will help you enhance your portrait taking skills.

Then on Tuesday, October 9, Portraits of Peoria presents What Makes a Photograph Great with Michael Vujovich of Michael Vujovich Photography. Michael will discuss what elements of a photograph make it a good one. Bring in your own work to share!

The final session, Tuesday, October 16 is Portraits of Peoria: Landscapes and City Scenes. Tesa and Travis Baile of Baile Photography return for a workshop about constructing landscapes and city scene photographs.

Then, on Tuesday, October 23, Peoria Public Library Lakeview Branch will host a photography contest featuring images of Peoria. Bring in your best shot of a favorite landmark or place that captures Peoria at its best between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. Please bring a print of your photograph and a digital image if possible. Awards will be given at 7:30 p.m.
