Peoria Park District Kids’ Sports in October

DODGEBALL – Dodgeball, the famous playground game, is reborn as an exciting new sport of teamwork, strategy and skill. Co-rec teams of six to 10 players (with at least two female players) put it all on the line trying to outlast opponents in a safe, friendly, yet fierce competition. The season will be played at Franciscan Recreation Complex starting Sunday, October 9. Team fees: $60 for residents/ $65 for non-residents. Player fees are: $10 for residents/$15 for non-residents. Registration packets are available at Glen Oak Park Pavilion, Franciscan Recreation Complex, the RiverPlex, or online at www.peoriaparks.org. The registration deadline is Friday, September 30. 4-Week Skate Lessons – This 4-week class is for beginners only. Classes are offered at all regular times and are for all ages (3 years to adult). The beginner sessions run Tuesdays 10/4-10/25, Wednesdays 10/5-10/26, Thursdays 10/6-10/27, and Saturdays 10/8-10/29 for the Fall I session. The Fall II sessions run Tuesdays 12/6-1/10, Wednesdays 12/7-1/11, Thursdays 12/8-1/12, and Saturdays 12/10-1/14. There will be no class 12/19-12/31. Fee-R/NR is $40/$45. Registration for skate lessons are accepted at Owens Center, 1019 West Lake Avenue, Peoria.

Boys Middle School Basketball League – Proctor Center is the place to bring your school or travel team for boys basketball. Or sign up as an individual and we will put you on a team. Grade levels are 5-6 and 7-8. Four teams per grade level. The fee is $10 per player. The league plays Mondays from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. starting 10/17 for 8 weeks. Volunteers are needed. Call 673-9183.
