I’m writing in favor of vacating permission for the Detweiller Playground Trust to sell some of its riverfront property to O’Brien Steel for industrial development.  It is my understanding that this land was Mr. Detweiller’s gift to the people of Peoria for playground, recreation, and public use.  He had a trust drawn up to promote his wishes after he died.  The sale to an industrial company doesn’t sound like the trust has been very faithful to its mission.  How hard did they work to develop this gift to directly benefit its recipients?

Did they inform all the stakeholders?  Please do not allow the sale of our riverfront.
